New year’s resolution: be fearless!
I just dropped in to share this brief snippet featuring the wonderful Fearless Nadia, a.k.a. Nadia Wadia, a.k.a. Mary Ann Evans, the Perth-born actress and stunt woman who lashed, bashed and smashed her way through Indian films in the middle of the 20th century. I profiled her last year, but it’s a treat to see more footage from her films as well as hearing her speak, in an interview recorded at a film festival in 1994. Winningly modest, she sounds more or less like an Australian grandmother but I’m guessing she’s one of the few Australian grandmothers who had a closet full of whips and leather bodices.
