Sergei Parajanov | collages

Georgian-Armenian film director Sergei Parajanov started exploring the medium of collage during a lengthy break from his preferred occupation, film director, a pause enforced by the Soviet authorities which included four years in prison. These pieces date from between 1970 and 1988. Parajanov died in 1990.
